February 16, 2018 Mrs. Janie Elliotte Lancaster Kelly, age 92, wife of Billy Kelly of 557 Gist Bridge Rd., Buffalo, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Kelly was born in Buffalo on June 13, 1925 a daughter of the late Jessie R. Lancaster and Rhoda Gowan Lancaster. She was a graduate of Pauline High School and retired from Sears of Union. Mrs. Kelly was an active member of Putman Baptist Church where she was on the Benevolence Committee, Sunday School, and the Senior Citizens Group for over 66 years and as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed yard work with her flowers and family fishing trips. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Jean Smith of Boiling Springs; two granddaughters Christi Yeatts and husband Jason and Kim Smith all of Boiling Springs; and one great-granddaughter, Julianna Yeatts of Boiling Springs. She was predeceased by one daughter, Frances Rebecca Brown; one sister, Maggie Carolyn Garland; and two brothers, George Martin Lancaster and Phelix W. Lancaster. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Tommy Mann and Rev. Ted Hodges. Burial will follow at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Garland, David Garland, Gregory Lancaster, Jason Yeatts, Lewis Lancaster, and Scott Lancaster. Visitation will be held 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the services at the church.
