Jay Paul Mcwherter

Jay Paul McWherter, age 41, of 1317 W. Main St., Union, passed away suddenly Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Jay was born in Columbus, GA, February 14, 1984. He was the son of the late Eugene "PaPa" Earl McWherter and Joanne "Granny" Budziak McWherter.  He had grown up in the Union Disabilty & Special Needs family. Jay loved to laugh, take part in Special Olympics and work with his friends in the Union Workshop.

Surviving Jay are his sister Sherri Lynn McWherter, his uncle Earl McWherter and his wife, Linda, all of Williamston, and cousins, Kristie Crosby and Jimmy Treadwell. He also survived by his Union Disability and Special Needs family.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Terry Lawing. Visitation will be held from 11:45 AM until 12:45 PM at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel.
