Jean Buice Evans

Mrs. Jean Buice Evans, age 76, wife of Henry Robert Evans, of 959 Gaffney Hwy., Jonesville, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Evans was born October 12, 1942 in Jonesville, a daughter of the late Herbert Buice and Margaret Robinson Buice. She was a graduate of Pacolet High School and was retired as secretary from Jonesville High School. Mrs. Evans was a member of Gilead Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Lisa Goings and husband Robin of Jonesville and Shanna Eubanks and husband Charlie of Gaffney; one brother, Dennis Joe Buice and wife Mildred Jean of Pacolet; two granddaughters, Stacie Austin of Jonesville and Sarah Evans Shetley of Union; and one great-grandson, Nathan Austin of Jonesville. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kayla Teal West. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Benny Waddle, Tommy Blackwood, Jamie Morris, Michael "Snake" Robinson, Terry Holmes, Preston Thomas, Perry Buice, Jr., and Grady Evans. The Union County Senior Citizens Group is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
