Jeanette Bradley Ivey

April 25, 1927 — April 8, 2015

Mrs. Jeanette Bradley Ivey, age 87, of 352 Browns Creek Church Rd., Union, widow of Ben C. Ivey, Jr., passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Ivey was born in Whitmire, SC on April 25, 1927 a daughter of the late A.W. Bradley and Mattie Campbell Bradley. She was a graduate of Whitmire High School and had retired from United Merchants-Union Mill. Mrs. Ivey was married to her beloved "June-Bug" for 66 years, she was a devoted wife, mother, grand and great grandmother. A faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church, she had served as the Church Clerk, a youth Sunday school teacher, had served as director of the WMU and was a member of the Joy Club. Mrs. Ivey truly loved the Lord and her family above all else. Our Mom was a great example of a Proverbs 31 Woman and leaves behind a great legacy. Surviving are a son, Ben C. Ivey, III and wife Lynn of Union; two daughters, Cathy Vassey and husband Jerry and Lee Anne Page and husband Larry all of Campobello; one brother, Lee Bradley and wife Grace of Whitmire; six grandchildren Mark Ivey and wife Kelly of Union, Stacy Kirkland and husband Tony of Gilbert, Clay Vassey and wife Heather of Columbia, Rev. Brad Vassey and wife Carrie of Sharon, Leslie Duncan of Campobello, and Lindsey Black and husband Chris of Chesnee; eleven great grandchildren; and special sisters-in-law, Lou Tipton, Rudelle Morris, Barbara Summers, and Goldie Jordan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale, Rev. Tommy Mann, and Rev. Brad Vassey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Philippi Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Ivey's grandsons. The following are asked to sit in a group, Rachael Craig's Sunday School Class, Hospice Care of SC Nurses, Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Hensley and Jeff Duncan. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379 or to Hospice Care of SC, 408 N. Duncan Bypass, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 352 Browns Creek Church Rd., Union, SC 29379.
