Jeanne Hicks Sumner

August 13, 2015 Mrs. Jeanne Hicks Sumner of Union, SC passed away the morning of August 13, 2015. She was 85 years old. She was born April 1, 1930 in Union, SC to the late James M. and Grace H. Hicks. She retired in 1992 having worked as a secretary in the Family Court of Union. Mrs. Sumner is survived by her son Marty (Dianne) Sumner of Pacolet; son Sammy (Lynne) Sumner of Union; daughter Susan Burch of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Christy (Mark) Hendricks of Hendersonville, NC, Ryan (Kristie) Sumner of Chesnee, Jamie Sumner of Union, Jason Sumner of Lehigh Acres, FL, Matthew (Amanda) Sumner of Spartanburg, and Samantha (Vince) Burch of Greenwood; four great-grandchildren: Dalton, Olivia, Savannah, and Lucas; and a sister Kaye H. Kendrick. Mrs. Sumner was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Jane H. Bradburn. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to her caregiver, Jenny Boggs. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will follow.
