Jeannie Bergen Strother

Ms. Jeannie Bergen Strother of Charlotte passed away peacefully December 31, 2025, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate in Charlotte. Born July 17, 1929, Ms. Strother was the eldest daughter of the late Lewis T. Strother and Kate Jeter Strother of Santuc, SC. She attended Union High School and was a graduate from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration. She retired after working more than 40 years as a legal secretary in Charlotte. Jeannie was well-read, and enjoyed cooking, shopping, water aerobics at the Harris YMCA and traveling the world. She loved her pet cats! She was a devout believer in Christian Science.

Surviving are two sisters: Mary Kate Raker of Charlotte, and Bonnie Lawrence of Santuc; niece Sally Raker; three nephews: John Raker, Lewis Raker, and Michael Lawrence; three grand nieces, and two great-grand nieces. Ms. Strother was predeceased by sisters Nancy L. Strother and Gloria S. Gaines.

Services will be held in the Jeter Chapel, 2:00 PM Sunday, January 4,2026 conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow in the Jeter Family Cemetery.
