Jeff David Parkins

December 21, 2015 Mr. Jeff David Parkins, age 69, of 1688 Molly Circle, York, widower of Ginger Ochiltree Parkins, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at his daughter's home. Mr. Parkins was born in Chester, SC on February 23, 1946 a son of the late Claude Parkins and Neily Parkins. He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and was a retired Supervisor from Lockhart Power. Mr. Parkins was a member of Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church. He was an avid coon hunter and loved to take the children of Lockhart Hunting, Mr. Parkins also loved farming. Surviving are a daughter, Dana Parkins and companion Daryl Miller of the home; a son, Marty Parkins of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Carolyn Scott of Lockhart; two brothers, Jimmy Parkins and wife Brenda of Jonesville and Roy Parkins and wife Brenda of Lockhart; four grandchildren, Paige Parkins of Union, Randall Seaford and wife Chelsea serving in Kuwait, Jeffery Reid Parkins of Hickory Grove, SC and Sera Elizabeth Miller of York; one step-grandson, Michael Lee Miller of Rock Hill; one great-grandson, Hilbert Dedeus, III of Union; and many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Frank Parkins, William Parkins, Jack Parkins, Tommy Parkins and Irvin Parkins and two sisters, Willie Frances Parkins and Ellen Ruth Parkins. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Craig Marshall. Burial will follow in Lockhart Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Greg Whiting, Sammy Baine, Jeff Queen, Dusty Parker, and Chase Parker. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Eric and Travis Brakefield, Bill Wylie, Earl Howell, Dean Howell, and Ronnie Lamb. Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Bullocks Creek Presbyterian Church, 7386 Lockhart Highway, Sharon, SC 29742.
