Jennie Lee Johnson Vanderford

Mrs. Jennie Lee Johnson Vanderford, age 83 of 3927 Vandy Dr., Sharon, widow of James Vanderford, passed away June 22, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Vanderford was born September 26, 1938, in Union, a daughter of the late Leroy Johnson and Ophelia Mathis Johnson.  She was retired from the Chester Police Department as a Jailer and had previously worked at Hope Hospital in Lockhart as an LPN.  Mrs. Vanderford was a member of Lockhart United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her twin daughters, Darlene Walker and husband Chris of Union and Marlene Eaves and husband Stan of Union; a sister, Peggy Roberts, of Jonesville; a brother, Hopie Johnson and wife Gloria of Gaffney; three grandchildren, April Black and husband Devin of Union, Morgan Eaves and wife Stacey of Roebuck, and Aaron Eaves and wife Casey of Union; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Walker, Trenton Clark, Ansleigh Black, Ana Black, Kaylie Eaves, Kamdon Eaves, and Kyler Eaves; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Michael Eugene Johnson. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Michael Walker and two sisters, Betty Lipsey and Ellen Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Lockhart United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz and Rev. Richard Lewis. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Morgan Eaves, Aaron Eaves, Devin Black, Stan Eaves, Landon Walker, and Trenton Clark.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the services at the Church.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Marlene Eaves, 4781 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
