Jennings L. Camby

Mr. Jennings L. "Suitcase" Camby, age 81, husband of Cheryl Phillips Camby of 231 Brewster St., Pacolet, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Mr. Camby was born in Pacolet, July 21, 1943, a son of the late Thurl and Edith Kirby Camby. He was a graduate of Pacolet High School and was retired after 30 years with Duke Energy. Mr. Camby was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher and served on various committees of the church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enthusiastic Carolina Gamecock fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 43 years, Cheryl, are two daughters, Holly Sanford and husband Brandon, and Ginger Minton and husband Tim all of Pacolet; two sons, Daryl Camby and wife Nikki of Pauline and Kevin Blanton and wife Amanda of Sunset, SC; and two brothers, Don Camby and wife Sandy of Spartanburg and Ned Camby and wife Donna of Pacolet. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kiersten Camby, Andrew Camby, Halee Ogle and husband Josh, Jared Sanford, Landon Blanton, Mason Blanton, Case Minton and Gemma Minton; three great-grandchildren, Braelynn Ogle, Brynlee Ogle and Sam Camby and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Humphries and Rev. Mack McDowell. Burial will follow at Pacolet Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the services

Active pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Eric Camby, Chad Crosley, Luke Harris, Donnie Kirby and Justen Martin.

The family will be at the home, 231 Brewster St., Pacolet.
