Jeri Lynn Raymond Stein

March 14, 2019 Ms. Jeri Lynn Raymond Stein, age 59, of 1227 Arthur Blvd., Union, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Ms. Stein was born February 22, 1960 in East Chicago, IN, a daughter of Mary Ingold Geurin Leininger and husband William Ray Leininger of Bolivar, MO and the late Jack Geurin. She was a graduate of Southwest Baptist University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education and a graduate of Converse College where she received her Master of Education. Mrs. Stein was retired from Union County Schools having worked as Physical Education teacher at Jonesville Elementary-Middle School and had taught at Buffalo Elementary School and Excelsior Middle School. She was a selected as the 2012 Union County School District Teacher of the Year. She previously a Social Worker in Greene County, Missouri and as a teacher in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri Schools. Mrs. Stein was a member of First Baptist Church and attended Cane Creek Presbyterian Church. Surviving in addition to her mother and step-father are two children, Austin Glenn Stein and Haley Rae Stein of the home; the father of her children, Mark Stein; five sisters, Lynda Horton of Russellville, KY, Sandy Cockerham of Union, Patty Majocci of Springfield, MO, Rhonda Gilmore of Cornerville, MS and Jackie Bishop and husband Jeremiah of Bolivar, MO; one brother, David Geurin and wife Lori of Bolivar, MO. She was predeceased by one brother, Mitchell Fuller. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Brian Childers. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Union County Relay for Life, P.O.
