Jerry Joseph "Jabo" Ward

Mr. Jerry Joseph "Jabo" Ward, age 72, formerly of Louise St., Union, passed away, Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg.

Mr. Ward was born in Union, April 19, 1948, a son of the late Paul and Ruth Hardin Ward. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the former Westside Baptist Church. He loved sports, especially football and baseball and was an avid Gamecock fan.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Ellen "Sis" Vaughan of Woodruff; two brothers, Phillip "Shine" Ward and friend, Rita Prince and Steve Ward and wife Rachel all of Union; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ward was predeceased by a sister, Betty Ward and four brothers, Paul "Bob" Ward, Jr., Tony L. Ward, Eugene Ward and Kenneth "Nip" Ward.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 7, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.

The following are asked to serve as the honorary pallbearers, William "Bugg" Turner, Terry "Rooster" Burris, Mike "Spanky" Sanders, Tony Peay, Melvin Motts, Jose Corona and Robert Sumner.
