Jerry Von “Pancake” Plemons, Sr.

June 9, 2017 Mr. Jerry Von "Pancake" Plemons, Sr., age 76, of 110 Poppy Lane, Union, widower of Ruby Lee Plemons, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mr. Plemons was born in Union, SC April 1, 1941 a son of the late Alphonzo "Fido" Plemons and Aileen Guyton Plemons. He was retired from Union County Public works and had previously worked at Cone Mill and Torrington Co. Mr. Plemons was a member of Putman Baptist Church. He was an avid CB radio Operator and fisherman. Surviving are one daughter, Ginger Latimer and husband Daryl of Inman; three sons, David Plemons and wife Candy of Chesnee, Timothy C. Plemons and wife Jimmie of Union and Jerry Von Plemons, Jr., and wife Lisa; one brother, Joe Plemons and wife Joyce of Buffalo; ten grandchildren, Sarah Plemons, Brandon Plemons, Kyle Plemons, Allen Etters, Heather Llewellyn, Casey Etters, Alexys Plemons, Jesse Plemons, Tyra Latimer, and Davario Clinkscales; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Peggy Gregory and Norma Sue Nance and two brothers, Ted Plemons and Jim Guyton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Tommy Mann and Mr. Ted Wilbanks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Becknell, Lynn Mitchell, Allen Etters, Kyle Plemons, Danny Jones, Brandon Plemons, and Seth Cash. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Putman Baptist Church, 3692 Buffalo West Springs Highway, Buffalo, SC 29321. The family is at the home of his son Jerry Plemons and wife Lisa, 125 Lake Dr., Union, SC 29379.
