Jesse L. Blitchington, Sr.

July 13, 2019 Mr. Jesse L. Blitchington, Sr., age 91, formally of Union, widower of Valerie Varner Biltchington went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Woodbridge Senior Living in Spartanburg, SC. Mr. Blitchington was born January 30, 1928 a son of the late James and Doshia Prather Blitchington. He was retired from textiles and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Blitchington was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Mary B. Lawson and husband, Wendell and a son, Jesse Lee Blitchingon, Jr. all of Union; a number of Nieces and Nephews; six sisters-in-law, Carol Stepp, Vera Beck both of North Augusta, SC, Faith Edland of Greer, Evelyn Brown, Lillie Kirby and Linda Bishop all of Union and brother-in-law, R.P. Varner. He was predeceased by two sisters-in-law, Mary Sox and Lillian Thompson. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2019 at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ross Wilson. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 in the Fellowship hall at the church prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 37, Union, SC. 29379. The family is at their respective homes.
