alt="" height="122" src="Images/Jesse%20Smith.jpg" width="117" /> Mr. Jesse Harold Smith, age 90, of 162 Tom Kelly Circle, Carlisle, widower of Sara Bess McCollum Smith, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Spartanburg Rehabilitation Institute. Mr. Smith was born in Monarch, February 28, 1930 a son of the late T.D. and Emma Nichols Smith. He was a graduate of Union High School and a retired lifelong electrician. Mr. Smith was a former member of the U.S. Merchant Marines and the S.C. National Guard. He was a long-time member of Carlisle Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Nick Smith and long term partner, Barbie Mitchell of Chapin; two sons, Johnny Smith and wife Becky of Atlanta, GA and Whitney Smith and wife Anita of Carlisle; eight grandchildren, Carol and Wade Ouzts, Katie and Jonathan Crews, Daniel Smith, Drew and Sharmilla Smith, Dee Smith, Zach and Elizabeth Smith, Daisy and Joshua Meador and Hannah Smith and four great-grandchildren: Kinsley and Caplan Crews and Harrison and Sadie Ouzts. Mr. Smith was predeceased by two sisters, Annabel Alverson and Jennie Liner and a brother, DeWitt Smith. Due to the recent health crisis, graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Mike Scales. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Whitney Smith, Drew Smith, Zach Smith, Harrison Ouzts and Bim Vaughan. Memorials may be made to Carlisle Methodist Church, P.O. Box 35, Carlisle, SC 29031 or to the Shriner Children's Hospital, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or to Palmetto Equestrian Therapy, P.O. Box 71, Clinton, SC 29325. The family will be at the home 162 Tom Kelly Circle, Carlisle.
