Mrs. Joan “Joanie” Morris Crocker, age 67, wife of Paul Crocker, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born December 6, 1958, in Union, South Carolina, Joanie was the daughter of the late Joe Moore Morris and Nancy Aycock Morris Garner. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Spartanburg Methodist College and was a longtime, faithful member of Jonesville United Methodist Church.
Known affectionately to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Grannie J,” Joanie was a deeply beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and wholeheartedly, always greeting them with a warm smile and an open hug. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she loved them with all her heart and soul.
Joanie was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Paul, each and every day of their 17-year marriage. Her life was centered on her family and on those she loved, and she gave of herself freely to them.
A woman of strong faith, Joanie was devoted to the Lord and was always eager to serve His church and help her Christian family in any way she could. She believed the most important thing about a person was their heart and where it rested, and she had a remarkable way of seeing the heart of others before anything else.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Crocker; her stepfather, Larry Garner of Gaffney; her son, Nick Johnson of Columbia; her daughter, Tori Woody of Pacolet; her son, Daniel Crocker and wife Rebecca; her daughter, Stacie Fowler and husband Chris; her brothers, Jamie Morris and wife Sandy, and Joel Morris and wife Barbara; her grandchildren, Ophelia Johnson, Michael Ward, Aiden Crocker, Dixie Crocker, Bryson Vanderford, and Kinsley Vanderford; her great-granddaughter, Aria Vangilder; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Moore Morris and Nancy Aycock Morris Garner, and her brother, John Morris.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel, conducted by Rev. Randy Burgess. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the chapel.
Memorials may be made to Jonesville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353.
Her love leaves a legacy that will live on through her family.
