Joan Marie Davis

Mrs. Joan Marie Knighton Davis, age 82, of 730 N. Duncan ByPass, Union, widow of Billy Davis, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was born in Union, April 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Jay B. Knighton and Sylvia Snowden Knighten. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from textiles. She was a devoted homemaker and former Navy wife. Mrs. Davis was a faithful member of Faith Community Church (Union Church of God) where she was a member of the choir and was a former day care worker. She loved doing crafts such as making candles and shell mirrors.

Surviving are three sons, Wayne Davis of the home, Timothy Mark Davis of Glenn Springs and Corey Davis and wife Andrea of Union; and a sister, Judy Ford and husband Tommy of Union. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cristina Davis, Kelsey Szabo ((Dominic), Austin Davis, Dillon Davis (Rachel), Amber Davis, Cole Davis (Alexis), and Bailey Davis and fiancée Annesley and great-grandchildren, Easton Szabo, Emmy Szabo, Mia Ray Hughes, Griffin Davis, Parker Davis, Sawyer Davis and Madilynn Davis; and special caregiver, Amanda Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Faith Community Church (Union Church of God) conducted by Pastor Steve McAbee. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church prior to the services.

The family will be at the home of Corey and Andrea Davis, 235 Hawthorne Rd., Union.
