Joanne Mathis Norwood

Mrs. Joanne Mathis Norwood, age 82 of 709 Rice Avenue Ext., Union, SC widow of Mack Norwood passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Union Medical Center. Mrs. Norwood was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 9, 1933 a daughter of the late J.C. Ford and Viola Jones Ford. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and retired as Office Manager from Shelby Concrete Products. Mrs. Norwood was a member of West Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter Cheryl Billings and husband James of Blacksburg; two Sisters Dale Lipsey of Union and Sandra West of West Springs; two brothers, Rev. Jerry Ford and wife Patricia and Danny Ford and wife Cornelia all of Union; one granddaughter, Morgan Heatherly of Union; five grandsons, Joseph Heatherly of Atlanta, GA, Cole Heatherly of Union, Alex Heatherly of Union, Michael Billings and wife Katie of Gaffney, and Eric Billings of Blacksburg; four great-grandchildren, Damion Banard, Carter Billings, Abbygail Faith Billings, and Noah Billings. She was predeceased by one son, Terry Heatherly and one grandson, Matthew Thomas. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 3, 2016 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Greg Black and Chaplain Rex Keaton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the services at the Church. The family is at the home of her sister, Sandra West, 126 West Lane, Jonesville, SC 29353.
