Joe Michael “Jo Jo” Wix

November 25, 2015 Mr. Joe Michael "Jo Jo" Wix, age 71, husband of Virginia "Ginger" Johnson Wix of 253 Rogerstown Rd., Jonesville, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mr. Wix was born in Union, SC September 22, 1944, a son of the late Joe A. Wix and Thelma Wade Wix. He was a graduate of Union High School and received a degree in business from Rutledge College. Mr. Wix retired as District Manager of Spinx Company, Inc. and Marathon Oil Company. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and had served in the Vietnam War on Submarine USS Salmon. Mr. Wix attended Covenant Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Amy Jo Wix of Spartanburg; a son, Shane Wix of Washington State; three step-daughters: Stephanie Willard of Spartanburg, Wendy Willard of Honea Path and Jennifer Pruitt and husband Matt of Boiling Springs; six grandchildren; two sisters: Lou Ann Whelchel of Spartanburg and Terri Lynn Wix of Charleston and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Wix was predeceased by a son, Toney Alan Wix. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Covenant Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Wayne Cook and Rev. John Lee. The nurses and staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held in the church immediately following the service.
