Joe Wade

Mr. William Joseph "Joe" Wade, age 72, husband of Sandra Belue "Sandy" Wade of 233 Munro St., Union, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Wade was born in Union, December 5, 1951, a son of the late William "Bill" and Thelma McCall Wade. He was a 1970 graduate of Union High School and had retired from Timken Company. Mr. Wade coached Dixie Youth boys baseball and girls softball for many years and he was also an avid Clemson fan. He was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Brandy Wilson and husband David; a son, Scotty Wade and wife Danielle; grandchildren, Seth Wade and wife Lacey, Logan Wade, Hunter Wolfe, Nick Wade, Kaigan Wilson, Maliyah Snow and Ethan Snow; and great grandchildren, Mason Wade, Myles Wolf, Jaxson Wade and Isaiah Wolfe. He was also survived by a daughter-in-law, Laurel Wade, a sister-in-law, Brenda Belue; nieces, Shannon Gibson and husband Wahoo, and Karmen Wade, nephews, Rickie Wade and Stanley Griffin and wife Pam and great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Shane Wade, a brother, Richard Eugene Wade and his mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Frost.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:30 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Roger Wade, Mark Wade, Ronnie Wade, Lindsey Cannon, Kenny Lominack and Dale Poole.

The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Roger Harris, Chase Austin, Lucas Austin, David Wilson, Steve Morris, Robbie Jett, Tommy "Squeaky" Roark, past coaches and players of his Dixie Youth teams along with retirees of Timken.
