John E. Duncan, Sr.

Mr. John Edward Duncan, Sr., age 82, of 65 Pelican Harbor Spur, Cross Hill, widower of Brenda Dover Duncan, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Hospice of Laurens Co. Hospice Home. Mr. Duncan was born in Fairmont, June 23, 1934, a son of the late Thomas Jefferson "T.J." Duncan and Willie Mae Harris Duncan. He retired from Inman Mills in Enoree and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Duncan was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Joni Duncan Wilson and husband Joey of Clinton; three sons, John E. Duncan, Jr. and wife Katie of Cross Hill, Joey Michael Duncan and wife Debby of Waterloo and John E. Duncan, III of Laurens; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Friday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County Hospice House, 1304 Springdale Dr., Clinton, SC 29325. The family will be at their respective homes.
