John David Garner

Mr. John David "Pa" Garner, Sr., husband of Jean Petty Garner, of 208 Webber St., Jonesville, passed into eternal peace, December 20,2024 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Garner was born in Kelton, SC, October 13, 1941, the son of the late Johnnie Garner and Evelyn Gault Garner. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Spartanburg Technical College.  Mr. Garner worked as a caster at Kohler Co. for over 30 years and retired from the Union County School District in 2001 as an HVAC and electrical technician. He was a member of Foster Chapel Methodist Church of Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville. Mr. Garner was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge 131 of Jonesville. He was a former 33rd Degree Scottish Rite of Spartanburg, where he was a member of the HEJAZ Hillbillies.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years, Jean, are a grandson raised in the home, Kyle Rice, and other grandchildren, Michelle Easler, Cody Guyton; Katlyn, Chelsey, Courtney and Jaxon Garner. There are eight great grandchildren, Madison and Jonathan Frost; Dixie, Wyatt, Daisey and Emma Ogle and Liam and Elijah Guyton. Mr. Garner also has two surviving daughters-in-law, Paula Garner and Sherill Garner and a sister Bobby Kirby. He was predeceased by his two beloved sons, John Garner and Mark Garner and two sisters, Carolyn Taylor and Gail Garner Bogan.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 22,2024 graveside at Jonesville Memorial Gardens, 1314 Spartanburg Highway, Jonesville, SC, conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel, 145 Hames Ave., Jonesville, SC.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Rice, Cody Guyton, Jaxon Garner, Michael Kirby, Bobby Kirby, Jr., and Monty Joe Bogan, Jr.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Interim Healthcare nurse Rachelle "Teresa" Glenn for the care she provided to David.

The family will be at the home, 208 Webber Street, Jonesville, SC.
