John Williams ‘Jay’ Cribbs, Jr.

June 8, 2019 John William "Jay" Cribbs, Jr., age 14, of 1115 Kelly Rd., passed away Friday, June 7, 2019. Jay was born in Spartanburg, April 13, 2005, a son of John Cribbs and Christina Hope Vinson Adams both of Union. Jay was a rising freshman at Union County High School having finished the eighth grade at Sims Middle School. He loved all sports especially baseball, basketball, football and the Clemson Tigers. Jay played Little League baseball for the E-Z Money ball team and loved playing video games. He attended Welcome Baptist Church with his family. Surviving are a sister, Brianna Alexis Cribbs of the home; two brothers, Liam Braydon Cribbs of Rock Hill and Ayden Adams of Union; his paternal grandmother, Jean Pettit Sailors of the home; his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Gault; his maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Gault; his maternal grandfather, Gene Vinson and wife Melissa; his maternal great-grandfather, Billy Vinson all of Union and a very special friend, Emma Cate Childers and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2019 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Devin Cribbs, Dillon Cribbs, Conner Earles, Daniel Kurtz, Cole Newton, Nicholas Vinson, Dylan Synder, Brandon Parkins, Adam Parkins and Gene Vinson, Jr. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at Welcome Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. The family will be at the home, 1115 Kelly Rd., Union, SC 29379.
