May 6, 2017 John "John Boy" Garner, Jr., age 54, husband of Sherill Peeler Garner of 164 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Jonesville, beloved son of David and Jean Garner passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home. John was born in Union, SC September 16, 1962 a son of John David Garner, Sr. and Jean Petty Garner. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and had worked as a Metal Fabricator at Clarkson Industrial. John was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church but attended Oakbrook Community Church. He was a beloved friend to all. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two daughters, Chelsey Garner and fiancée Chris Turner and Michelle Frost and fiancée Corbin Easler all of Jonesville; two grandchildren, Madison Frost and Jonathan Frost both of the home; one brother, Mark Garner and wife Paula of Jonesville; mother-in-law, Fannie Bright of Union and father-in-law, Haskel Peeler of Jonesville. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 at Oakbrook Community Church conducted by the Rev. Randy Burgess. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Jody Waddle, Roy Knox, Mike Kirby, Jr. Kirby, and Todd Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Roberts, Danny Williams, Gene Horne, Chad Vinson, Willie Trantham, and Derrell Eaves. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Monday prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the John D. Garner, Jr. Fund, C/O Holcombe's, PO Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 164 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Jonesville, SC 29353.
