John R. "Lightening" Gregory, Sr.

Mr. John Ronald "Lightning" Gregory, Sr., age 66, husband of Barbara Jeanette Clary Gregory of 3504 Cowpens-Pacolet Hwy., Pacolet, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Gregory was born in Spartanburg Co., June 6, 1954, a son of Willie Mae Lyda Gregory of Pacolet and the late John William Gregory. He was a retired textile worker and attended Pacolet Mills Church of God.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three sons, Adam Gregory and John R. Gregory, Jr. both of Pacolet and James Gregory and wife Sheila of Union; two sisters, Joyce Stepp and husband Rev. Mike Stepp of Boiling Springs and Ann Byrd and husband Reese of Columbia; a brother, Billy Gregory and wife Susie of Pacolet; seven grandchildren: Kasey Gregory, Stacey Gregory, Pam Gregory, Melinda Gregory, Ceirra Amaker, Dylan Gregory, and Keirra Gregory and six grandchildren. Mr. Gregory was predeceased by a brother, Danny Gregory.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Lebanon Cemetery in Spartanburg conducted by Rev. Michael Hutchins and Rev. Mike Stepp. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Active pallbearers will be Allan Inman, Larry Inman, Chris Gregory, Chris Guyton, Chase Gregory, Dennis Stepp and Geoffrey Byrd.

The family will be at the home of his mother, Willie Mae Gregory, 240 Spring St., Pacolet.
