John Lynn Phillips Buffalo, Sc

Mr. John Lynn Phillips, age 65 of 1307 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Flat Drive, Buffalo. Mr. Phillips was born in Union, SC June 26, 1948, a son of Arthur Lynn Phillips and Mary Cody Phillips of Union. He was a 1966 graduate of Union High School and received an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Phillips was owner and operator of Leonard's of Buffalo and was a former co-owner of Phillips Hosiery Mill. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force having served in Vietnam. Surviving in addition to his parents are a son, Jeffrey Phillips of Union; two sisters: Kay P. Smith of Columbia and Sally C. Phillips of Roswell, Ga.; a brother, Mac Phillips of Fletcher, NC; a long time partner, Arana Coleman of the home; two nieces: Hannah Kinney of Columbia and Sophia Phillips Rushing of Roswell, GA and two nephews: Riley Phillips Rushing of Roswell, GA and Alan Smith of Columbia. Mr. Phillips was predeceased by a nephew, Austin Phillips. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Roger Estes. Visitation will be held in the Greater Union Church following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Union County Meals on Wheels, P.O Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 1307 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321.
