John Wayne Prince

Mr. John Wayne "Johnny" Prince, age 78, husband of Sue Lewis Prince of 1781 Whitmire Hwy., Union, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Union Medical Center.

Mr. Prince was born in Union, October 17, 1945, a son of the late James Virgil Prince and Mary Jane Vinson Prince. He was retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Amy Marie Prince; a son, John Thomas Prince both of Union; a sister, Mary Brittian of Athens, GA; two brothers, James Prince of Tucson, AZ and David Prince of Union and two grandchildren, Aletha Marie Hines and William Joseph Richardson, Jr.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Richard "Bo" Prince, Robert Prince, Bobby Carl Prince and Tommy Prince.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Spartanburg Regional Home Health and Hospice for the care given to Mr. Prince during his illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess and Rev. Larry Goins. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.
