John A. Roberts

Mr. John A. Roberts, age 60 of 123 Hancock St., Union, a native of Wilkes Co., NC, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Roberts was born in Guilford Co., NC, July 16, 1963, a son of the late Everette Leroy Roberts and Juanita Dowdy Roberts and was raised by his maternal grandmother, Lexie Blackburn Honeycutt. He retired from John C. Clark Construction and was a member of the Rose of Sharon Church in Hays, NC.  Mr. Roberts was a fan of NASCAR racing, watching WWE wrestling with his son, westerns on TV and country music. He was an avid horse lover who spent many days riding his Appaloosa horse named Kelly.

Surviving are a daughter, Kristi Roberts of the home; a son, John Fletcher Roberts of Alma, MI; two brothers, Donald Gene Roberts of Oklahoma and Paul Everette Roberts and wife Carla of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren, Devin Heinz, Destiny Church and Kara Church. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Adrian Taylor and Preston "Zeke" Kirby and best friends, Johnny Johnson and Fred Ferguson. He was predeceased by a sister, Renea Taylor and one of his best friends, Danny "Plug" Prather. The family would like to say a special Thank You to his close friend and "special angel", Rebecca Roope for her kindness and support.

A memorial service will be scheduled by the family for a later date.
