John Wallace Sanders

Mr. John Wallace Sanders, age 88, husband of Peggy W. Sanders of 151 Chapman Road, Pacolet, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Mr. Sanders was born February 10, 1937, in Union County, a son of the late John Thomas Sanders and the late Pearl Frances May Sanders. He attended Union County Schools, was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Atlantic Coast Insurance after a long career in insurance sales. Mr. Sanders was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and SS teacher. He was also a member of the Hardee's Coffee Club in Pacolet.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Sabra Morrow and her husband Clark of Spartanburg, Kimberly Wieters and her husband Chance of Clemmons, NC and Dana Queen and her husband Brad of Jonesville. Mr. Sanders is also survived by granddaughters, Courtney McCloud (Preston), Chandler Steading, Hallie Wieters, Madison Morrow, Landyn Queen and grandson Cameron Queen (Haley). He is survived by great granddaughters, Hadley McCloud and Porter Steading, great grandson, John Palmer Steading, a sister, Cornelia O'Shields and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sanders was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Smith and brothers, Heyward "Buck" Sanders and Ned Arthur Sanders.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 27, 2025, at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon and Rev. Jimmy Dillard. Burial will follow in the Pacolet Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will follow the services at the gravesite.

Active pallbearers will be Clark Morrow, Chance Wieters, Brad Queen, Cameron Queen, Preston McCloud and Dillon Bryant. The deacons of Jonesville Baptist Church and the Hardee's Coffee Club of Pacolet are asked to sit as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice team: Carrie, Christina, Mechelle, Gina, Cheri, Steve, and Dr. Rosenburg for the love, care, and concern shown to Wallace during his illness.
