John “Jt” Vinson

January 10, 2019 Mr. John Thomas "JT" Vinson, age 67 of 117 Red Rd., Lockhart Community, Union, widower of Kathy Walker Vinson, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Vinson was born in Union, SC June 6, 1951, a son of the late Ernest Vinson and Josie Spiller Vinson. He retired from Cone Mills and was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons: Chad Vinson and wife Stacie of Union and Danny Vinson of Lockhart; two grandchildren: Kaycie Vinson and Emma Vinson of Union; four sisters: Betty Kelly and husband Eddie of Union, Becky McAbee of Clinton, Kathy Henderson of Union and Frances Ansley of Augusta, GA and a special cousin, Garrett Gibson of Union. Mr. Vinson was predeceased by a sister, Pat Billingsley and two brothers, Bobby Vinson and Louis Vinson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Baine and Rev. Delos Blanton. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ray Lindsey, Steve Gibson, Lee Brannon, Logan Vanderford, Joey Allen and Robert Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Inman and the Coffee Crew of Lockhart One Stop. Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday in the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, 126 Askew Circle, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 117 Red Road, Lockhart Community, Union.
