Jonathan Luke Bailey

Jonathan Luke Bailey, age 27, formerly of Union, passed away September 15, 2023 at his home in Virginia.

Jonathan was born in Spartanburg, July 1, 1996, the son of Philip and Tonya Jones Bailey of Union. He was a 2014 graduate of Union Christian Day School and attended USC-Upstate. Jonathan was employed with Carter Caterpillar Machinery in Midland, VA.

Jonathan was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a firefighter. He served a tour of duty in both Syria and Al Dhafra. An avid outdoorsman, Jonathan enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his fiancée, Shelby Payne of Virginia; a daughter, Adeline Grace Bailey; a son, Samuel Luke Bailey; his maternal-grandfather, Robert Dale Jones of Carlisle and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the chapel prior to the services.
