Joseph T. Harris

Mr. Joseph Thomas "Joe" Harris, age 74, of 1518 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, widower of Sarah Ochiltree Harris, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at his home. Mr. Harris was born in Union, February 24, 1941, a son of the late Robert Marshall Harris and Ruby Vinson Harris. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was retired from Torrington Co., Tyger River and had previously worked with Milliken and Co. and EMMD. Mr. Harris was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Donna H. Ford and husband Roger and Leigh Ann Harris all of Union; a son, Joey Dale Harris and wife Mary of Union; three sisters, Brenda Harris and Sherry H. Hodge both of Union and Judy Phillips of Dallas, TX; one brother, Danny Harris of Union; grandchildren, Heather Harris, Kelsey Harris, Christopher Bouleware, Kyle O'Shields, Joseph Sawyer and Anna Rose Sawyer and great-grandchildren, Madison Gantt, Jordan O'Shields and Callie O'Shields. Mr. Harris was predeceased by two brothers, John Robert Harris and Paul Kenneth Harris. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2016, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glenn Ribelin. The following are asked to serve as the honorary pallbearers, Wayne Belue, Larry Belue, Jack Jennings, David Baldwin, Dennis Belue and Neil Belue. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 1518 Peach Orchard Rd., Union.
