Joshua Dale Lydia, age 37, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home at 240 Putman Road, Buffalo SC.  His passing comes after a battle with cancer.

Joshua was born in Spartanburg County, SC on October 8th, 1983. He is survived by his wife Julia Burgess Lydia, his mother Lisa Mullinax Lydia, daughter Tabitha Lydia (fiancé Nathaniel Sorrell), sister Monica Lydia Gordon (husband Adam), in laws Jerry and Joyce Burgess, nieces Haylee West and Arieana Gordon, nephew Avery Palacios. He is also survived by great nephews Michael and Milan Boyle, Tanner Kelley, also great niece Myla Sorrell. A special brother in love William "Bushytail" Earls of Blacksburg. Joshua was predeceased by his father Mitchel Dale Lydia.

Joshua was a graduate of Gaffney High School and was a carpenter by trade specializing in counter-top fabrication.

The body will be placed in the home Friday afternoon where the family will receive friends.  Funeral services will be held Monday April 5, 2021 in Blacksburg SC at First Apostolic Church at 2:00 PM by the Rev. Tim Patterson and Rev. Zachery Taylor. Burial will be at Putman Baptist Church in Buffalo SC.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Phillips, Perry Morgan, Robert Handy, Josh Godfrey, Travis Wood, Travis Mullinax, Cameron Mullinax and Aaron Earls.

Honorary pallbearers are William "Bushytail" Earls, Chuck Ainsworth, Steve Elliott, James Leihber, Billy Joe Cook, Chris Woodson, Special Friend Crystal Reese, Members of the Upstate SC Music Scene and Members of the Union Open Mic Night.
