Mrs. Joyce Haney Abee, age 77 of 516 Toluca St., Union, widow of Vernon V. Abee Jr., passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Abee was born in Buffalo, March 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Milas McKinley Haney and Martha Dyer Haney. She was a seamstress, formerly employed with Her Majesty and with Interiors by Connie in Union. Mrs. Abee was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Ministry and was a former Sunday School teacher. In 1991, she proudly received her high school diploma from Union High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was the last surviving of seven children in her family. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy H. Hollingsworth and husband Tim of Union; six grandchildren, Jaime Strickland and husband Jeff, Brooke Boulware and husband Chris, Brianne Sanders and husband Scott, Alison Quaranta and husband Sean, Leigh Abee and Jeff Abee and wife Breanna; and five great-grandchildren, Aidan Strickland, Ella Sanders, McKinley Sanders, Emma Quaranta, and Amelia Abee. Mrs. Abee was predeceased by a son, Steven Lynn Abee. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Barry Haney, Mike Haney, Eric Haney, Jeff Strickland, Scott Sanders and Chris Boulware. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 187 Neal Shoals Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Peggy and Tim Hollingsworth, 743 Tinker Creek Rd., Union.
