Obituary

Joyce Ann Crocker, 89, of Lockhart, South Carolina, passed away on July 11 at Mary Black Hospital. Born on August 17, 1936, she shared 71 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jim. Together they built a loving home, raised a family, and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Joyce found happiness in the simple things in life. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved, spending time at the lake, shopping, and listening to Alan Jackson. Nothing made her happier than having her family together.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Melinda) Crocker and Jimmy Crocker. She was a loving “Nanny” to her grandchildren, Jen (Brandon) Roberts, Josh (Lee) Crocker, Jana (Clay) Moore, and Jayla (Adam) Gault, and was blessed with five great-grandchildren—Jace, Josie Ann, Jayleigh, Jordyn, and Cameron—who always brought a smile to her face. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Karen (Paul) Inman, and a brother-in-law, Larry Crocker. She shared a special bond with her niece, Mary Ann Gill, and nephews, Ronnie Crocker and Mark Inman, as well as many other nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Crocker; a daughter-in-law, Janet Crocker; her brothers, Jerry McSwain and Bill McSwain; and her parents, Mildred “Mit” McSwain and Buford McSwain.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at Mary Black Hospital and the staff at Union Post Acute for the compassionate care and kindness shown to our mom and family.

Funeral services will be held at Philippi Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Reverend Robert Scott, with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Mike Fowler, Wayne Grady, Mike Webber, Stanley Webber, and Jace Roberts. Gerald Gregory will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home of her son, Jimmy Crocker, 386 Bentley Town Road.
