Joyce Catherine Mcleroy

Mrs. Joyce Catherine Ruth Mcleroy, age 66, of Haywood St., Buffalo, widow of Tommy L. Mcleroy, Sr., passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Union Medical Center.

Mrs. Mcleroy was born in St. Louis, MO, September 13, 1956, a daughter of the late A.J. and Shirley Jaco Ruth. She was retired from textiles and had previously worked as a caregiver in a nursing home in Texas.

Surviving are two daughters, Gena McLeroy and Nita Hall and husband Alvis both of Athens, TX; two sons, Tommy L. Mcleroy, Jr. and wife Sherry of Buffalo, with whom she had made her home and James R. Ruth of Oklahoma; two sisters, Kitty Ann Loden and Linda Flanagan both of Texas; and three brothers, Michael Ruth and wife Julie of Clinton, SC, Allen Ruth, and Jackie Ruth of Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lashonda Ray and wife Ashley Sauls, Anthony Ray, Brittany Hall, Makayla Hall, Keyonna Pierce and husband Michael, Talo Hall, Brianna Mcleroy, Harlie Mcleroy, Jordan Mcleroy, Dakota Steifer, Mac Schlee, Aubrey Schlee-Sinclair, Brooklynne Richard, Nickolas Schlee, Zackary Schlee, Stephen Closky, Jr., London Closky, Riley Closky, Raiden Closky, Ethan Closky, Annalise Closky, Billy and Alivia Ruth and Michael and Nicole Clemente Nico; and great-grandchildren, Ju'Quise Singleton, D'Ziran Brookins, Arielle Ray-Sauls, Kari Pierce, Kristian Pierce, Mia Gresham, Braydon Gresham, Montrell Frasier, Keodrick Jr., Brentley Diaz, Journee Hunter, and Anthony Ruth. Mrs. Mcleroy was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Mcleroy and Lorrine "Twiggy" Ruth, and two grandsons, Brandon Hall and Taviene Ray.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date by the family.
