Judith S. Cooksey

March 21, 2019 Mrs. Judith Diane Shetley Cooksey, age 70, of 110 Bates Ave., Union, widow of Fred Cooksey, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Valley Falls Terrace in Spartanburg. Mrs. Cooksey was born in Union, December 30, 1948, a daughter of the late William Lydge Shetley and Viola Sanders Shetley. She was a graduate of Union High School and was a retired textile worker. Mrs. Shetley was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Anderson and husband Jack of Union; two sisters, Susan Lovelace of Union and Mary Ann Duckett and husband Gene of Spartanburg; a brother, Ronnie Shetley and wife Lisa of Union; four grandchildren, Michael Berry and wife Tara, Paige Cameron and husband Chad, Mindy Berry and Casey Kitchens; and three great-grandchildren, Parker Berry, Carson Whitley ad Rex Jackson. Mrs. Cooksey was predeceased by a daughter, Patti Berry, a great-grandson, Kayden Harvey, a sister, Grace Reece and two brothers, Jim Shetley and Cecil Shetley. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Ottaray Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe and Rev. Jack Anderson. Visitation will be held from 2:30 until 4:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Ottaray Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Union, SC 29379 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Karen Anderson, 114 Bates Ave., Union.
