Judy Aman

d. July 15, 2014

July 15, 2014 Sunday, July 12, 2014, we lost the physical presence of, Judy Crocker Schlagenhauf Aman, a loving Mother, Sister, Sister-in-law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and steadfast Friend. She was born May 24, 1940 in Union, SC, to Raymond Heyward Crocker Sr. and Margret Ola Nichols Crocker. Judy grew up in Union where she graduated from Union High School and later attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Like no other person, she was our enduring light of laughter, love, and passion. If one word could describe her character, it would be "Server". Not one family member can say they were not touched by her being there for them through some sickness or need sometime in their life. To her nieces and nephews, of which there are many, there is not one she had not held, cared for, sang to, or loved so deeply. To her friends, she shared her heart, her concerns, and most of all her love. She truly enjoyed the dinners, the movies, and the long nights of conversation she had with you. To her High School Alums she was so proud to have been a part of the journey with you through this life and she had the fondest memories of the times spent in your company. And to her brothers and sister (and in-laws), there are no earthly words that can be uttered that will ever describe the depth and breadth of her love for you. In her latter days, the one thing that bothered her the most was missing her chance to spend as much time with you as she could. Be it known to all, she surrounded her home with pictures of everyone and she often spoke of you even when she had not seen or heard from you. She was a hardened believer in family for that was where real riches come from. She cared not for mansions or fancy cars, but valued every word, card and picture she had of you. If she had any final words for you she would say, "I Love you and give your lives to Jesus, for in that pursuit alone, I know I will see you again soon." Judy is survived by her brother Don Crocker of Fort Payne, AL, sister Nancy Crocker O'Dell, and brother Sonny Crocker of Union, SC; her children Claude Schlagenhauf and his wife Sherry, Mark Schlagenhauf, and Julianne Schlagenhauf Leonard and her husband Rob. She had 6 grandchildren, Ashley Heath, Emily Quesada, Nathan Leonard, Brittany Schlagenhauf, Lauren Schlagenhauf, and Courtney Quinn and 3 great grandchildren; Kylie Dixon, Jayden Quesada, and Genna Quinn, all of who were her heart. Judy is predeceased by her mother Ola Nichols Crocker, her father, Raymond Heyward Crocker, her two older brothers Jerry (Nick) Crocker and William Larry Crocker. Her children lovingly invite you to visit and celebrate her life with us on Saturday, July 19 from 1-2:30 for receiving of friends and for service at 2:30 at the First Presbyterian Church of Union. The church she grew up in, sang in the choir, and enjoyed many memorable summer bible school days. The place she gave her life to Jesus. She will be laid to rest by her children beside her parents, sister, and granddaughter in Rosemont Cemetery following the service.
