Mrs. Judy Ivey Medford, age 75, of 1667 Meadow Woods Rd., Union, widow of Wayne David Medford, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Medford was born in Brevard, NC on December 28, 1941 a daughter of the late Arthur Hope Ivey and Ferrell Gregory Ivey Palmer. She was the oldest grandchild of the late BC and Anna Ivey. Mrs. Medford was a devoted member of Buffalo Baptist Church where she served on various committees and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a master gardener, an avid plant collector and was a member of the Good Neighbors Garden Club. Mrs. Medford owned and operated Andy's of Buffalo, prior to that she had worked for many at A&P Grocery where she had been assistant manager. She later worked at Fresh Air Galaxy. Surviving are three daughters, Tonya Proctor and husband Kenny of Union, Shelia Lawson and Danny of Weaverville, NC, and Sally Medford and fiancée Scott Malone of Union; one son, Greg Medford and wife Renea of Union; three sisters, Sue Cudd and husband Julian, Vicki Nalls, and Joan Penland and husband Randy all of Union; seven grandchildren, Dave Proctor of Columbia, Vance Edens of Union, Luke Edens of Union, Robert Ashmore of Union, Suzanne Smith and husband Chris of Buffalo, Connor Medford of Buffalo, and Ivey Grace Medford of Buffalo; three great grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Isabelle Smith, and Colton Ashmore all of Union. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Buffalo Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Lynn Ford, Rev. Tim Anderson, and Rev. Jack Buchanan. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Medford's Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Andy's of Buffalo. The Staff and Nurses of Medi Home Hospice and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of Buffalo Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R Holcombe Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to the staff and nurses of Medi Home Hospice.
