Julia Catherine Eaves Vinson

Mrs. Julia Catherine Eaves Vinson, age 90, of 439 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., widow of Elzie Eugene Vinson, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Vinson was born May 20, 1928 in Kelton, a daughter of the late Paul Revere Eaves and Sibbie Ann Morris Eaves. She was retired from Milliken & Company. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir for many years and took care of the children in the nursery. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are one daughter, Cathy E. Smith and Jerry of Union; two grandchildren, Katie Thomason Adams and husband Jonathan and Scott Lagene Smith and wife Tonya all of Union; three great-grandchildren, Tayla and Raina Smith and Anna Kate Adams; two special nieces, Audrey Boler and Jennie Peay; and one special great-niece, Mariah Boler. She was predeceased by one daughter, Susan A. Thomason; four sisters, Laura Eaves Comer, Ann Eaves Sprouse, Essie Eaves Vinson, and Mary Sybil Eaves; and six brothers, Ralph, Jimmy, Weldon, Ed, Bill, and Herbert Eaves. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Lewis and Mr. Todd Palmer. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Stan Eaves, Ronnie Eaves, Tommy Eaves, Terry Vinson, Jonathan Adams, Robert Palmer, Danny Comer, and Marty Reardon. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 373 Wesley Chapel Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the of her grandson, Scott and Tonya Smith, 245 River Rd., Union, SC 29379.
