Julia G. Howell

August 29, 2018 Mrs. Julie Garner Howell, age 95 of Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, widow of Ervin Lee Howell, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Howell was born in Union, May 2, 1923 a daughter of the late Hoyle and Lula Garner Garner. She was a graduate of Kelly-Pinckney High School and was retired from Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant. Mrs. Howell was an active member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Natalee H. Spencer of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer and wife Ethel of Easley, Angelia S. Cole and husband Chris of Columbia and Leadaire S. Peay and husband Ken of Atlanta, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Celeste Peay, Shelby S. Cruse, Spencer Peay, Graham Cole, Natalee Cole, Savannah Spencer and Caroline Cole and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howell was predeceased by three sisters, Natalee Garner, Dorothy Howell and Margaret Hart. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West and Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 Saturday at the church prior to the services. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Natalee H. Spencer, 438 Rogerstown Rd., Jonesville.
