September 5, 2016 Mr. Julian Monte Stanford, Jr., age 61, husband of Tammy Lindler Stanford of 113 Bridle Trail Lane, Union, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home. Mr. Stanford was born in Spartanburg, SC November 4, 1954, a son of the late Julian M. Stanford, Sr., and Helen Sanders Stanford. He was a 1973 graduate of Union High School and the University of SC-Union. Mr. Stanford was a former machinist at INA Bearing and owner and operator of Diversified Pest Control. He was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, a Shriner and a life member of the Union Masonic Lodge #75. Mr. Stanford was a former member of BPO Elks and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Keri S. Adams and husband Jason; two sons: Jake Stanford and Sean Stanford and wife Amy all of Union; a mother-in-law, Clydie Mae Lindler of Union; seven grandchildren: Joshua Kason Adams, Collin Blake Adams, David Oneal Stanford, Ansli Stanford, Kenzie Stanford, Kalei Stanford, Kensleigh Turner, Tyler Howse and Madilyn Howse; two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and a cousin. He was predeceased by a son, Nick Stanford. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Augsburg Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Maria Miller and Rev. Terry Montgomery. Visitation will be held immediately following the services at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Adams, Rodney Gallman, Jeremy Gallman, Donald Walker, Aaron Walker, Kevin Walker, James B. Nabors, Paul Magner, Robbin Vinson and John Glenn, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monte Stanford Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379 or to Augsburg Lutheran Church, 151 Connector Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Medi Home Hospice and special caregivers Julia Adams and Courtney Jennings for their care of Monte during his illness. The family will be at the home, 113 Bridle Trail Lane, Union.
