Karen Bailey (Bailey) Gallman

March 28, 1951 — May 14, 2025

Mrs. Karen Bailey Gallman, age 74, wife of Master Sergeant Stan Gallman of 177 Hidden Forest Drive, Union, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Gallman was born March 28, 1951, in Union, a daughter of the late James Robert Bailey and the late Sarah Frances Sanders. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg. Mrs. Gallman was a dedicated member of Bethlehem Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and served on the Administrative Board. She taught the children's Sunday School Class for many years and loved working with the children and youth of the church. She was a Master Gardener and maintained a greenhouse as long as her health permitted. It was her joy to keep flowers around the church in immaculate condition. Mrs. Gallman was dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness and was instrumental in assisting with Pink Sundays at her church. She raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer awareness and completed seventeen, 3 day 60 mile Walks for a Cure for the Susan G Koman Foundation in Atlanta and Minnesota.

Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-two years are a daughter, Brandi G. Weaver and a granddaughter, Dylan J. Weaver of Union, two sisters, Deborah B. Peterson and her husband Walt of Minnesota and Carole B. Pack and her husband Derrel of Laurens; two brothers, Robert Bailey of Oregon and Jimmie Bailey of Union; a sister-in-law, Pam Cavender and husband Danny of Union, several nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Margaret Betenbaugh of Union.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Bethlehem Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Lee Coyle and Rev. Chad Ponder. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Juan Cruz, Robbie Littlejohn, Danny Cavender, Myron Harris, Jeff Gault, Ken Horne, Glenn Ribelin and Al Foote.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Agape Hospice for the care, love and compassion given to Karen during her illness.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at the home, 177 Hidden Forest Drive, Union.
