Kathleen Jones Woolen Union, Sc

Mrs. Kathleen Jones Woolen, age 87, wife of Lewis M. Woolen of 100 Wingfield Drive, Union, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Woolen was born in Pacolet, SC October 4, 1926, a daughter of the late A.P. Jones and Lula Galloway Jones. She was a graduate of Union High School. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Lewis M. Woolen who survives "Leen". They have celebrated sixty-seven cherished years of wedded bliss. Mrs. Woolen retired as secretary of the Union County Family Court and was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faye Teague Sunday School Class. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Sheryl W. Crocker and husband David and Jan W. McCallister all of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Gina Shipp and husband Allen of Spartanburg; a sister, Betty Alexander and husband Roy of Anderson; a brother, Winston Jones and wife Annette of Newberry and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Woolen was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ron Gaddy. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday in the church parlor prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Harold Lawson, David Crocker, Allen Shipp, Tom Alexander, Sam White and Jim Palmer.
