Kathryn Eaves Candler

Mrs. Kathryn Eaves Candler, age 83, wife of Robert Candler of 4758 Lockhart Highway, Union, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Mrs. Candler was born in Newberry, SC on June 27, 1940, a daughter of the late John H. and Sara Bryson Cromer. Mrs. Candler was a graduate of Cecil Beauty School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Carlisle Christian Church where she served as Sunday School Coordinator and was a Sunday School Teacher. She also served with the Union County Council on Ministries. She was first married to the late Jimmy Dean Eaves.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughters, Donna Massey and husband Mike, Lynn Vaughan, Sara Ann Franklin and her husband Duane, Trudy Stegall and her husband Eric; her stepson, Chris Candler and his wife Loretta; 7 grandchildren, Mica McGovern and husband John, Joelle Massey, Monta Franklin and husband Ben, Karla Price and husband Glendon, Ashlee Phillips and husband Blake and Betsy Vaughan and Jay Vaughan; 4 great grandchildren, Reid Franklin, Zoe Price and husband Hunter, Shae Candler and Alec Candler.  Mrs. Candler was predeceased by a son, Joel Eaves, a granddaughter, Bentley Franklin and a son-in-law, Jimmy Vaughan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Carlisle Christian Church conducted by Rev. Chad Ponder and Rev. Meritt Wentz.

Active pallbearers will be Whitney Smith, Wayne Grady, Mike O'Dell, Joel Vaughan, Ronnie Eaves and Stan Eaves. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Palmer, Danny Cromer, Ronnie Thomason, Keith Reardon, Mike Vanderford, Todd Palmer and Marty Reardon.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
