Kathy D. Garner

October 2, 2015 Mrs. Kathy D. Garner, age 66, of 1194 Pea Ridge Highway, Jonesville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Garner was born in Union, SC on March 23, 1949 a daughter of the late Bobby L. Thomas and Dorothy McCullough Lovings. She was a graduate of Spartanburg Community College where she earned a degree in Surgical Technology. Mrs. Garner worked at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where she was a certified Surgical Technologist. She later retired from York Technical College as the head of the Surgical Technology Department. Mrs. Garner was a member of the Association of Surgical Technologist and was also active with the Operation Smile Organization. Surviving are a son, Hal Garner and wife Ivy of Union; a daughter, Tracy Smith of Jonesville; two sisters, Phyllis Rogers and husband Jim of Pacolet and Myra Dameron of Jonesville; two brothers, Gregg Sanford and wife Sonya of Jonesville and Richard Lovings and wife Laura of Union; and three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Holli Barnes, Emma Garner, and Abby Garner. She was predeceased by one brother, Boyd E. Sanford. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 5, 2015 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Alan West. Visitation will follow immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to, Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA, 23453. The family is at their respective homes.
