Kristin Edwards Barnes

Mrs. Kristin Danielle Edwards Barnes, age 33, wife of Tanner Barnes, of 552 Old Iron Works Rd., Spartanburg, passed away, Monday, February 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Kristin was born June 9, 1989 in Union, a daughter of Gene A. "Bubba" Edwards and Pamela Mowdy Edwards. She was a 2007 graduate of Union High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Kristin was a Registered Nurse at Greer Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church where she was a member of the Couples Sunday School class. Kristin enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether it was snowboarding, hiking, or camping with her family. She loved reading and spending time with her family, especially family game nights.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two sons, Tate and Trace Barnes of the home; a sister, Cailey Edwards; two brothers, Trey Edwards and wife Carolyn and Kyle Edwards all of Union; a half-sister, Kensi Edwards of Spartanburg; two nieces, Kynleigh and Sabrina Edwards of Union; her in-laws, Susan Nabors of Rock Hill and Jim Barnes and friend Paula Lancaster of Florida; her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Brenda Mowdy of Union; her paternal grandparents, Gene and Loretta Edwards of Union; three aunts, Jennifer Martin, Lisa Blackwell, and Christine Inman and many close cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by an aunt, Kelly Bradburn.

A celebration of life services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Randy Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the nurses and staff of Interim Hospice, especially Danial Sherbert, for their care and compassion shown to Kristin and her family during her illness.
