February 4, 2017 Mrs. Lamatrel Ponder Haney, age 87 of 2243 Buffalo West Springs Hwy, Buffalo, widow of Everette McKinley Haney, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mrs. Haney was born in Spartanburg, SC June 20, 1929, a daughter of the late George Wilson Ponder and Mary Lou Littlefield Ponder. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and retired from Her Majesty. Mrs. Haney was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where she had served as the Director of the Nursery. Surviving are two daughters: Lisa McMillian and husband Michael of Union and Gina Cannon and husband Todd of Roebuck; two sons: Mike Haney and wife Marianne of Prosperty and Eric Haney and wife Laurie of Pauline; a sister, Wanda Snyder of Boiling Springs; a brother, Andy Ponder of Blanchester, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Bradley McMillian and wife Katie of Aiken, Blake McMillian of Buffalo, Myles Cannon, Skyler Cannon and Macy Cannon all of Roebuck, Rett Haney of Columbia, Josh Haney of Prosperity, Devin Dehart of Roebuck, Bryce Dehart of Columbia and Dillon Dehart of Gaffney; four great-grandchildren: Grayson McMillian, Seth McMillian both of Union, Aiden Profera of Boiling Springs and Jase Dehart of Gaffney. Mrs. Haney was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Rush and three brothers, Marl Ponder, Levonne Ponder and Ricky Ponder. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Melvin Shelton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Haney's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held in the church following the service. Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321. The family is at the home, 2243 Buffalo West Springs Hwy, Buffalo.
