Larry R. Bennett

Mr. Larry R. Bennett, age 78, husband of Lynda Harvey Bennett, of 178 Spencer Rd., Jonesville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Bennett was born, October 31, 1946, in Union, a son of the late Rev. Austin Bennett and Cleo Graham Bennett.  He was a 1965 graduate of Jonesville High School and retired as a Life Insurance Agent from Monumental Life Insurance Company.  Mr. Bennett was a veteran of the South Carolina National Guard Union Unit.  He was a member of West Springs Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, and Senior Adult Life Group Leader.  Mr. Bennett was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Commanders.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years are a son, Richard Bennett and wife Ellen of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Kevin Bennett and wife Victoria, Michael Bennett and wife Ruth Ann, and Brook Kelly; and three great-grandchildren, Titus Bennett, Cleo Bennett, and Willow Bennett.  He was predeceased by a son, Brian Bennett and a brother, Lynn Bennett.

Celebration of life services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2024, at West Springs Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Mike Royal and Rev. Greg Black.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tyler Petty, Gerald Bennett, Scott Garrett, Eddie Williamson, Shawn Ingle, and Charles Bennett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Martha and Ken Lancaster and Rufus and Patricia Chaneyworth.

Visitation will be immediately following the services.
