Larry Eugene Duckett

Mr. Larry Eugene Duckett, age 60, husband of Janice Kingsmore Duckett of 3528 Cross Keys Highway, Union, passed away, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Heartland of Union. Mr. Duckett was born in Union, July 18, 1956 a son of the late Raymond Duckett and Ruby Eaves Duckett. He retired from Bilo having worked at both the Union and Clinton Stores as the Meat Market Manager. Mr. Duckett was a member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church. He was an active Cattle Farmer and was a member of the Union County Cattlemen Association and the Union County Poultry Club. Mr. Duckett was a big Elvis fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a Papa to any child he knew. Surviving in addition to his wife are, three children, Chris Duckett and wife DeAnn of Union, Jill Maness and husband Greg of Buffalo, and Clayton Duckett and wife Brandy of Union; one sister, Linda Kingsmore of Jonesville; one brother, Ricky Duckett of Union; eight grandchildren, Colton Duckett, Alison Fowler, Trevor Duckett, Jessica Wood, Alexis Fowler, Austin Duckett, Gracie Duckett, and Kinley Duckett; expecting one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Cunningham and Rev. Carroll Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Monty Cooke, Bryan Brackins, Thomas Trammell, Bryce Duckett, Brett Duckett, and Tyler Kingsmore. Honorary pallbearers will be, Randy Wilburn, Dean Gregory, Norris Fowler, Tommy Inman, Dennis "Bunt" Trammell, R.E. Gallman, Keith Davis and Mr. Duckett's friends and co-workers from Bilo of Union and Clinton. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family would like to express their love and thanks to the Nurses and Staff of Heartland of Union for the wonderful care and attention given to both Larry and Janice over the last several months.
