Larry Hope Williams

June 17, 2019 Mr. Larry Hope Williams, age 76, husband of Gwen Lee Williams of 132 Dana Tara Lane, Buffalo, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at his home. Mr. Williams was born in Union, April 7, 1943, a son of the late John Baxter Williams and Inez Mary Murphy Williams. He was retired from Torrington Co. and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Travis Scott Williams and wife Julie of Columbia and Kevin Williams and wife Gretchen of Alabama; two sisters, Frances Green of Union and Ruby Eubanks of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren: Brittany W. Holm of Swansee, Ryan Williams of Cowpens, Ramie Williams and Madison Williams of Alabama, Brandon Garner of Spartanburg, Bronson Garner of Union; Breea Adams and Trenda Williams both of Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was predeceased by four sisters, Christina McNeace, Mary Nell Black, Ruth McNeace and Shirley Pearson, and two brothers, Rev. Boyd Williams and Donald B. Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be a Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ernest Crocker, David Lee, Jamie Williams, Robert Williams, Randy Wood, Marion Eubanks, Stanley Eubanks and Jerry Williams. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Joel Miller and Ronnie Crocker Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the services.
